Improving Effectiveness of Local Councillors and Capacity Building of Local Governments in the Czech Republic

MEPCO is involved in the implementation of a 3-year project that aims to create training program and creation of comprehensive system of services to increase efficiency, transparency and quality of decision-making processes at the municipal level. The main target group are local councilors. The project fosters creation of anti-corruption environment. The main activities include the preparation and implementation of trainings for representatives (e-learning and online courses as well), the establishment and operation of IT-consulting center for representatives and a platform for sharing the best practices. MEPCO acts primarily as a project management and advisory body for the project.

Labour Market Thematic Network Development in Ústecký Region

The aim of the project is to create a regional thematic network with national and international overlap. The main product of this networking activity – based on the exchange of best practices with the foreign partners – will be a handbook of process innovations in following areas: consultation work with job seekers, cooperation between the employees of Labour Offices and NGO’s and the role of self-government bodies within the process of designing coordinated programmes for unemployed.

Training of Employees of the ESF Implementation

The aim of this project was to support the training and education within the European Social Fund implementation structure, i.e. to provide for the training of employees of the organizations working with applicants for a grant from the European Social Fund. MEPCO was responsible for the project management.

Training within the Framework of „New Opportunities for Cooperation and Education in the Enlarged Europe“ Project

In the course of 2007, the company MEPCO prepared and organized a series of several educational modules, which were assigned to the municipalities of extended powers of level III (legal frame of public administration, communication skills, tax problems, and project cycle) and to the educational activities for the representatives of accredited and small municipalities of levels II and I (legal frame of public administration, communication skills, general and basic principles of municipal management). These trainings helped to enhance the quality of education, awareness, and knowledge among the communal representatives and the local authority employees, which further supported the quality of the functioning of public administration.

Training in Project Management in the Region of Central Bohemia

In the period from September 2006 to January 2007, the company MEPCO organized trainings in the field of project management. The trainings were intended for two target groups: Euromanagers and Applicants. MEPCO was responsible for the preparation of training materials, realization of the training itself, and for the preparation of the final version of script textbooks for both of the groups. Last but not least, an assessment of the activity was processed through evaluation questionnaires.

Training: „Project Manager“

This public contract, with the central theme of the “Project Manager”, included a complex realization of trainings that at last involved the employees of development centres, project managers of municipalities, schools and contributory organizations of the regions, and of non-profit organizations and businesses in the region of Ústí nad Labem.

Call Centre Region

132 540,- EUR (3 313 500,- CZK)

The aim of this project was to establish call-centres and thus support the efficacy of private enterprises within the Vsetín Region, enhancing and supporting the employment rate in the region. The Call Centre represents a place where its employees deal with phone calls covering specific themes. These phone calls may include an individual department as well as a specialized company that provides outsourcing services.

EVENTUR: Bohemia and Moravia

The EVENTUR project focused on the development and verification of the training programme designed for retraining of persons within the field of modern tourist industry methods.

STOP to Social Exclusion

The aim of the project was to broaden the European Social Inclusion Strategy within the Czech Republic, including the transfer of information and examples of good practice among all relevant partners and stakeholders who are most likely to influence the situation of the endangered groups.

Social Standards: Česká Lípa

The main aim of the project was to enhance the process of social inclusion of disadvantaged groups, including the support of their integration in the labour market through a targeted training and implementation of social standards within the social services. The role of MEPCO was to prepare and design the concept of the project, ensuring the project management and methodology and organization of trainings.

YoungPool Havlíčkův Brod/ YoungPool Vsetín

The project focused on the analysis, diagnostics, orientation, and motivation of the target group, represented by young unemployed people and young mothers who wish to return to the labour market after their maternal leave. The main aim of the project was to create a bridge between the unemployed people (through motivation, consulting and educational programmes) and the labour market (through an analysis of the labour market in the region). The role of MEPCO involved a preparation of certain parts of the methodology (language skills, information concerning the labour market and the interconnection of supply and demand within the market.

Regional Operational Programme, South-West Region

The activity included an update of the regional development programme, with subsequent elaboration of the Regional Operational Programme (ROP), which represents the general instrument for the employment of the Structural Funds within the region in the period 2007 – 2013.

Continuous update of the National Development Plan, which has served as a basic instrument for drawing resources from the Structural Funds within the Czech Republic in the period 2007 - 2013.

Strengthening the Readiness of the Representatives of Local Authorities for the Accession of the Czech Republic in the EU –Acquis Communautaire on the Regional Level

Elaboration of an analysis of the impact of European legislation upon Czech towns / cities and municipalities after the accession of the Czech Republic in the European Union, particularly focusing on the question of public contracts and public support.
